The End of An Era

The dampness on the rough rail matched Sally’s damp spirit. With the funeral now six months in the past and the will recently probated and read all that was left for Sally and her two siblings was to sell the farm.

As she walked along the texture of the morning air matched a memory that suddenly came to life.

“Sssally Hendersssson, you are ssstill alive?”

Turning to look behind her, she saw the black shrouded figure point a long bony finger at her.

“Yes I am Balthar, I am immortal just like you.”

Facing the ghoulish figure, Sally quickly pointed her own long bony finger and he vanished with a scream.

  1. Complete change of mood in the end! Caught me by surprise. Well done!

  2. Creepy, right down to the bony finger. This is the perfect setting for such an encounter, Jim. I like it! I like your new blog look, too. It looks great.
