Today’s Daily Prompt is: We all feel down from time to time. How do you combat the blues? What’s one tip you can share with others that always helps to lift your spirits?
When I get the blues, I am at some point able to remember what friends who are in 12 Step groups have often said to me when they are having a tough time.
This too shall pass.
I have found it to be true. Often I have gone to bed full of the blues but with a night of rest, have awoken the next morning with the blues gone and fresh perspective on the situation at hand.
We all get the blues, but unless it is a serious situation which demands attention, I think this simple phrase,
“This too shall pass”
is a very helpful reminder.
