Friday Fictioneers: Seriously?

It’s time again for Friday Fictioneers via the gracious Rochelle Wisoff-Fields.

If this is your first visit to one of my FF posts, then let me quickly introduce you to the concept. Each Wednesday Rochelle posts a picture that is used as a photo prompt for a 100 or so word of flash fiction, (as in “flash” of insight!)Β  written on the fly. It has been fun to do and I look forward to the post each week.

“Here now is this week’s Friday Fictioneers!” (said in my best announcers voice!) πŸ™‚

“And up these steps the Knights Templar went, driving back the fresh group of invaders and again reclaiming this part of Jerusalem for the Pope, King of France, and God.”

Billy Knowles’ ears perked up at the words “Knights Templar.”

“Mom, since when did the disciples become knights and fight for the King of France of all people?”

Betty Knowles’ stuttered out a reply…”Well, uh, those knights weren’t not disciples, they were knights and uh…” “But mom, they werrre monks, who were priests, who were disciples.”

Sister Megan chimed in, “But they did fight for God dummy!”

“Seriously?” thought Billy.

He slapped a fly on his arm and kept walking.

    1. I know that there are many views on the Templars and that they are always generate a lot of “discussion.”
      Thanks Patrick for stopping by.
