This past Saturday my oldest turned 16. I remember his birth very well. He took his sweet time! Later today, he has his first job interview.
In elementary school he determined that Cross Country was to be his sport. And he consistently was the number two runner for his High School team this past season.
I remember the day I found out he committed himself to God in his quiet way. And the day I baptized him I blubbered my way through “I baptize you in the name of the Father…” For the second worship service he stands with about a dozen other teens and leads us in worship on Sunday.
I know that all of this can change in the blink of an eye.
But for now, I am grateful to God for the growth in his life and the opportunity to be his father.
Have a great Monday!
