‘How far… And… How well…” Thursday Thoughts

From a tweet this morning that a college chum found on a friend’s Facebook wall was this gem that I needed to read:

“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.” ~George Washington Carver

I would add “and how well” to the “How far … you go..” segment

It is going to be printed and taped on my desk next to this gem:

“The mature person realizes that life affirms itself most, not in acquiring things, but in giving time, efforts, strength, intelligence, and love to others.” Thomas Merton
