Jesus loves the little children,
All the children of the world;
Red and yellow, black and white,
All are precious in His sight,
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Father, today we pray for the children of the world.

Many are doing well and are thriving and growing as they should.

We praise You Father God for them.

Others Lord are not.

Some have been the tragic victims of war,

others are dealing with an unseen enemy that used to light their houses and warm their homes

and now poisons their water and food…

Some of them Lord have become pawns in a power struggle between parents

others the victims of unspeakable acts of violence and bondage.

Some are seriously ill and are precariously perched between life and death.

Father we pray to You to rescue the children.

Father we pray to You to redeem the children.

Father we pray to You to revive the children.

Father forgive us for the way we, as adults push our children to be anything…

…but children.

Father forgive us for bowing down to the goddess we call success

and seeing our children not as marvelous human beings but as human instruments who are to be used at our pleasure.

Help us to empower them to become the adults that You would have them become.

Let us be sources of faith, hope, and love in You

We pray this day that the children of the world would have an unmistakable awareness of Your love and presence

no matter what state they find themselves in.

Lord God,

We are all Your children

and some of us Lord live with stunted growth because our childness has wounded and damaged causing us to be stuck…

spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and mentally stuck in patterns of behaving and relating that need to be changed.

In Your grace and mercy, heal us

In Your love and power, redeem us

In Your plans and purposes, empower us

Amen and Amen.
