As I began to think about and plan for this service, I felt led to include several moms in this morning service. They are mothers who are at various stages of motherhood from young children to elementary age to teenage years to grown children and I am going to ask them to come forward and be seated on the platform. They come to share on the blessings and benefits of being a mother.
Moms have always been a source of great inspiration and wisdom to us as they have taught us the following qualities, values, and abilities:
TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE: Example: “If you’re going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning.”
RELIGION: Example: “You better pray that stain comes out of my carpet.”
LOGIC: Example: “Because I said so, that’s why.”
MORE LOGIC: Example: “If you fall out of that swing and break your leg…. don’t come running to me!”
FORESIGHT: Example: “Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you’re in an accident.”
OSMOSIS: Example: “Shut your mouth and eat your supper.”
HOLD OUR OWN against SUPERIOR FORCES. Example: “You’ll sit there until all that spinach is gone.”
In a more serious vein, I want to read Proverbs 31:10-31 before our four moms speak because it really speaks to the values of wives and mothers that the Lord places on them. Though the language speaks of another time and place, the values and importance of both being a wife and a mother is clearly revealed. (Read the passage)
I asked these four mothers to share the blessings and benefits of being a mother and I am grateful for their willingness to share!

We read in our text for this morning, “Charm is deceptive; beauty does not last; but a women who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.”
We now are going to honor all of our moms with a gift of recognition and appreciation for your role in our lives. I am going to have _____ come and share what has been created for moms this year and then I have asked some of the children to come and help hand out these gifts to our moms as they come forward.
